It's A Patience Contest And Not A Popularity Contest

Investing is not a popular contest meaning some companies are more popular than others. That doesn't mean the less popular enterprise is less profitable. Currently I have shares from a company that is not popular at all, but profits more than Apple and Tesla. The media will have us chasing stock all day, but it's not good to do this because these companies are "darlings" of the media.
Patience is a virtue. Friday I set a price to purchase stock. It's Monday and I had to make a run this morning which pulled me away from my desk. While I was away for a brief time, unexpectedly the price started soaring.
That's all it took for the stock to get out my price range. I made a mistake by not checking into the stock before heading out for my errand, which I had plenty of time to do.
The price is soaring, which is enticing but that would be a bad mistake to buy at this point. This puts me in a position of chasing stock, and I definitely don't want that. I have to sit patiently until it's in my price range. It may take weeks or it may take months.
