There are many things that can effect the stock market and Natural disasters is one of them. Due to my travels and attending several meetings I wasn't able to Blog like I wanted. Not to mention I was in Dallas, TX during this current snow storm, and it was pretty hard to text when electrical power is very limited.
It's a terrible situation in Texas with limited resources, and yes this does affect businesses. The market can stall if there is no power in a certain part of the country. For instance, today's market is down because so many are affected by the snow storm as it sweeps across the nation.
It's about survival at this point, so Investing in stocks would be the last thing on someone's mind. It's a serious icing situation in the south, which is causing damage to property. Is global warming a reason for these disasters? Well some people seem to think so. I do have clean energy stock in my portfolio.
Spending money is a huge part of moving the market, and that's hard to do when people are in survival mode. On the other hand, some share prices will low. The idea is to buy low and sell high.
